Rinnovare, the project of Canadian producer and multi-instrumentalist Matteo Neufeld, unveils his most intimate work yet with A Lucid Factory For Her Encounters. The album is a personal exploration of transformation and memory, balancing fragility and catharsis through raw acoustic melodies, lush arrangements, and emotionally honest vocals.
Grounded in real instrumentation, the record features upright bass from Mickey Smith (Ben Howard), alongside clarinet, vibraphone, strings, and live drums that bring warmth and organic depth. Fingerpicked guitar and hushed piano weave through cinematic swells, creating soundscapes that feel both tender and otherworldly.
Track four introduces Australian vocalist Indyana, whose spectral presence expands the album’s palette with striking vulnerability and strength. Neufeld’s own delicate, sincere vocals carry the record, leaving a lasting resonance.
Sonically, A Lucid Factory for Her Encounters recalls Novo Amor, Bon Iver, and Sufjan Stevens, yet forges its own space with handcrafted intimacy and detail. Mixed by Chad Skinner (Half Moon Audio) and mastered by Taylor Deupree (12k), the album offers a listening experience that is both cinematic and deeply personal.
